James says there are two types of people. Those who hear but don’t do, and those who hear and then act. And he uses an analogy of looking into a mirror. If you listen to the word of God, and don’t obey, it’s like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, but as you walk away, you forget what you look like.
