Douglaston Community Food Share

Food security is an ever-present reality in New York City. In response the Community Church of Douglaston will be hosting the Douglaston Community Food Share to “give away free food” in our church parking lot. 

La Jornada NY Food Pantry is providing 50 boxes of free food for distribution by our Church on the 2nd Sunday of every month 1 pm to 2 pm.Through the support of the Douglaston Local Development Corporation (DLDC), the Community Church of Douglaston and Zion Episcopal Church are able to provide free food distribution to those in need in our community.

Our “free food give away” gives our Church the privilege to give hope to our neighbors in need. We will be able to offer friendly encouragement to people who are coping with difficult struggles and hospitality to our neighbors. We want to be the Church that shares the abundance of God with those in need. “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Matthew 25:35.
