Brown Bag Sunday - November 24
As you begin your own Thanksgiving food shopping, please consider supporting CCD’s Youth Group, the Sparks, which will be continuing CCD’s tradition of Brown Bag Sunday.
In the wake of many things happening worldwide, it is imperative we not forget the quiet work of Queens' own local efforts in feeding the hungry. This year we are again supporting a local RCA Church, Queens Reformed Church in Queens Village with our food donations. Their weekly Wednesday, Community Kitchen, provides a hot meal to many people. Our Brown Bag food collection will sustain the nearest and neediest of God’s children and their families through the cold winter months. Nutritious, non-perishable food items are desperately needed. This year we will also be accepting frozen turkeys.
Cheerfully fill your brown bags and bring them to church on Sunday, November 24th. The bags will be blessed and a convoy will transport them to Queens Reformed Church following worship. If you cannot shop, cash donations will be gratefully received and we will do the shopping for you! Please indicate “Brown Bag Sunday” on the envelope or check.
Thank you for your generous support of this Mission project!
