Narcissistic people are a cross we often must bear. We instinctively recoil from narcissistic behavior, even when we see it in someone we admire — like the ancient prophet Elijah. In today’s text, we find the poor man sobbing under a broom tree in the Negev, and it’s not a pretty sight. God helps him understand that it’s not all about Elijah. It’s about Someone Else.
