Pastor Albert and his wife Annelise recently hosted a dinner attended by members of CCD's Consistory, as well as clergy from congregations in our community. The purpose was to meet with Meyer Conradie, the CEO of Mosaic Africa, who co-founded Mosaic with his wife Louise in 2008, after graduating from college. Meyer was accompanied by Karen Baker, a founding board member and representative in the USA.
After a delicious dinner, Meyer talked about Mosaic's mission and vision and shared touching stories of how their work has impacted orphans and families in South Africa. Meyer and Karen answered questions and explained how individuals and churches can get involved in making a difference to alleviate the plight of more than 5 million orphan and vulnerable children in South Africa alone. CCD recently held a fundraiser to support Mosaic's work of direct orphaned and vulnerable child care.
Read more about Mosaic's mission and vision below and visit their website for more information on how you can support them.
Mosaic is an organization, based in South Africa, that seeks to surround the tens of millions of orphans and vulnerable children and their caretakers across the continent with the environment they need to flourish, by uplifting the communities and foster families caring for these children.
Mosaic work to accomplish this through the intersection of direct orphaned and vulnerable child care (OVC-care). Mosaic partners with other OVC-care organizations and serves the wider orphan-care industry by building systems and communities of best practice around these systems.
Mosaic’s mission is to create systemic and lasting change in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) within and beyond South Africa through three separate, but interdependent orphan-care programs: the Family Development Program, the Incubation and Acceleration Program and the industry Outreach Program.
Mosaic’s vision is to see orphans and vulnerable children in Africa have a loving and caring family, in which they can be equipped to realize their God-given potential.
